if its just for Internet id wont matter all routers ar faster then any internet connection x

Anything with a LAN gigabyte ethernet connectivity will be the fastest you can go. Stay away from Air Cards/satellite internet connections, though.

I assume you mean for home use. In that case 2 Gb is the fastest for a switch and 1 Gb for a router. I recommend a wired router or switch, as it will be faster, more reliable, and more secure than wireless. D-Link DGL-4100 10/100/1000Mbps is a good router and D-Link DGS-2208 10/20/100/1000/2000Mbps is a good switch.

this will depend on its use. For home Gigabit is the fastest. in small buisness or enterprise a fiber card and switch may be used. Keep in mind for home and small buisness High speed internet typically has 10/100 max. what this will mean is transfer speed will be limited for internet but transfering data within the local area network will be faster if you run gigabit nics and switches. Local area network meaning anything on your side of the internet connection.
